Oversized shirts, baggy jeans, loose jackets and relaxed silhouettes have dominated fashion for several seasons now. They are warm and easy to dress as well as look good all the time, but wearing loose-fit clothes all the time can eventually feel repetitive.

If you are bored of oversized outfits and want to have more structure and shape to your wardrobe, you don’t need to change your personal style at all. A few thoughtful swaps can keep your outfits fresh but still comfortable.
Try Straight-Leg and Relaxed-Fit Jeans
If you have very baggy denim and it’s your daily wear, begin with straight-leg jeans. They are more regimented with less stretchiness than skinny jeans.
Pair straight-leg denim with a fitted T-shirt, tucked-in shirt or cropped top. Mid-rise or high-rise pair with a clean silhouette for a slightly relaxed look.
Bring Back Fitted Tops
A fitted top can instantly change the proportions of an outfit. You can try ribbed tops, fitted T-shirts, polo shirts or simple knitwear.
If you’re not ready to wear entirely body-hugging clothing, choose a semi-fitted silhouette. It follows the body shape and is not too tight.
Experiment With Tailored Trousers
Tailored trousers are a cheap way to get out of an oversized closet. The waistband should be clean and legs should be straight or slightly wide.
So wear them with a tucked-in shirt, fitted knit top or cropped jacket. It looks polished without a lot of visual manipulation.
Try Cropped Jackets
Instead of oversized jackets covering the entire outfit, experiment with cropped or waist-length styles. Denim jackets, leather-style jackets, structured blazers and short utility jackets can add definition.
A cropped outer layer can also provide an attractive silhouette with high-waisted trousers or jeans.
Explore Midi and Maxi Skirts
If you wear oversized trousers and jeans on a daily basis, skirts can give a totally different look.
A-line, pleated, straight and bias-cut midi skirts are versatile. Put them with a fitted top for a clean silhouette or tucked-in relaxed shirt for a more casual outfit.
Add Structured Blazers
A well-fitted blazer can instantly make a simple outfit look much more polished. You don’t need a very tight blazer. Look for one that can be comfortably pulled in at the shoulders and has a defined shape.
Wear it over a basic T-shirt with jeans or pair it with tailored trousers to make it a more sophisticated outfit.
Don't Give Up Comfort
Moving away from oversized clothes does not mean wearing uncomfortable clothes. The aim is to find silhouettes that provide shape, movement and comfort at the same time.
Breathable fabrics, adjustable waistbands and cuts that allow you to move easily are essential. You can also integrate relaxed and fitted pieces, as opposed to getting it all in a very structured fashion.
Build the Change Slowly
You do not have to replace your entire wardrobe overnight. Start by changing one element at a time.
Try fitted tops with your favourite loose jeans, or wear tailored trousers with an oversized shirt. Once you become comfortable with different proportions, you can gradually introduce more structured pieces.
Fashion is about feeling confident about what you wear. If oversized clothing is no longer so exciting, it’s the perfect time to experiment with new silhouettes and rediscover your personal style.
